Lilies & Sparrows Sourdough offers fresh, homemade sourdough baked goods in Hudsonville, MI. We are a micro-bakery where each loaf is naturally leavened and long-fermented. Our hope is that our baked goods can bring a smile and joy to each bite.

The Sourdough Journey

I started making sourdough for two reasons: a desire to learn, and a need to have some sort of joyful rhythm in the midst of a chaotic and worrisome time. Little did I know this passion project was going to grow into something more.

My husband and I were walking an infertility journey of several years, and during this season there were a multitude of emotions. Grief, frustration, worry, surrender, faith, trust, hope.. and I was in desperate need of a hobby to give my hands, my heart, and my head something to focus on. Enter - sourdough.

Through learning how to make sourdough, the Lord has used this growing passion and skill to teach others and to develop my very own Micro Bakery to help support our family. And so, Lilies & Sparrows was born.

My sister-in-law helped inspire me with the name, because as we worried through our journey, she kept reminding me of Matthew 6:25-30. The Lilies and the Sparrows are always provided for and never have to worry because our heavenly Father is our shepherd, provider and protector.

Today, I want to share my love for sourdough with the community and provide some small amount of joy with every loaf.
